On Wednesday morning, Lacoste presented its f/w ‘18 collection during Paris Fashion Week and it came with an announcement: Lacoste is replacing its classic crocodile logo with a selection of ten different animals. But no worries, only for a special occasion: The brand’s “Save our Species” capsule collection that has been created in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

It consists of classic white Lacoste polo shirts, except that on the chest, they don’t feature the regular crocodile patch, but one of ten different endangered animals, such as the vaquita (a solitary sea mammal), the Burmese roofed turtle, the Javan rhino, the Sumatran tiger or the Californian condor, the largest flying bird in America. Only a limited number of each shirt has been made - as many as there are animals left of the species. In case of the vaquita, that means as little as 30 shirts are around. 

The shirts have hit Lacoste’s web store yesterday but were sold out within hours. All profits will be donated to IUCN to support these species’ saving. Further donations can be made at www.saveourspecies.com.
