Zara US has signed a long-term lease on a historic building for its new and first South Florida flagship. The Spanish retailer’s store there will be housed across two stories and 26,000 sq. feet (2,415 sq. meters) at 420 Lincoln Road, a landmarked Art Deco edifice that stands at the east entrance of the Lincoln Road Mall.

Originally designed by Albert Anis, the building will be transformed into a Zara by Miami-based architect Allan Schulman.
"Zara choosing 420 Lincoln Road as a home for its Miami flagship is a testament to the significance of the property," said Lamys Guerrero, vice president of 420 Lincoln Road Associates. “By maintaining the building's historic integrity, we will bring an elevated shopping experience to the already highly active corner.”

Lincoln Road Mall attracts more than 13 million visitors each year. Its other fashion-based tenants include Scotch & Soda and Sunglass Hut.

The new flagship will carry Zara’s women’s, men’s and kids’ products. A projected opening date for the store has not been revealed yet.
