American heritage brand Woolrich is set to launch footwear. The Pennsylvania-based company will debut a collection of men’s and women’s shoes and slippers for fall 2014 thanks to a recently inked long-term licensing agreement Portland Product Werks (PPW), a premium footwear licensing group founded last year by industry veterans Sean Beers and Carl Blakeslee.

Several styles in the new collection will be 100% Made in the USA and each one will feature an iconic Woolrich wool pattern such as checks, stripes and plaids.

“Woolrich is the iconic American heritage brand–and a walk through its woolen mill in Woolrich, Pennsylvania is like stepping back in time,” says Blakeslee. “It’s this sentiment that inspired us to create a footwear collection filled with hand-crafted, innovative details that have a heritage authenticity that we felt was lacking in the market. The motto we used to guide the creative process is ‘make it worth making.’”

The collection will make its wholesale debut at the FFANY trade show in New York in December 2013. It will also show at Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City in January 2014 and Project Las Vegas in February.
