The French fashion trade show Who’s Next ( and accessories trade show Premiere Classe ( have announced new fair dates for next year. In a significant change both fairs will move the summer edition from September to early July – which should be immediately following Bread and Butter in Barcelona.

The latest editions of Who’s Next and Premiere Classe - held from January 24th to 27th 2008 at Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles - showed an 11% reduction in general attendance with 42,802 visitors, versus 48,092 in February 2007. Despite a business drawn atmosphere, there was an increased presence of quality buyers and those from new countries: both trade shows could increase the foreign attendance by 6%, representing 41.2% of general attendance with 17,609 visitors, while French attendance shows a 19% reduction with 25,193 visitors.

European buyers (excluding France) rank highest, representing 76.5% of foreign attendance at both trade shows with 13,470 visitors. Italy, as usual, represented the bulk with 3,292 visitors, making up 18.7% of foreign attendance). Spain and Belgium come in second and third, respectively with 10.5% and 8%, followed by Great-Britain with 7.3% and Switzerland, 4.1%. There was also a notable increase of Turkish attendees (3.2% with 562 visitors) and Portuguese (1.5% with 251 visitors). Asia is the second most represented continent making up 13% of foreign attendance and the Middle-East makes a breakthrough, representing 3.6%. Buyers from the American continent represent 4.5% of foreign attendance, with 50% Americans and 22% Canadians. Africa represents 1,4% of general attendance and 131 Australians were present at both trade shows as 1% of the foreign attendance.
