Following its German debut in Hamburg last November, the Swedish brand Weekday said it will open a store in Berlin on July 9 during Fashion Week. The store will be located at Friedrichstrasse 140 in the Mitte. Weekday offers a more grown-up alternative to the typical Swedish look of skinny jeans and voluminous shirts. In addition to vintage pieces, the 629-sq.-meter store will carry the company’s own brands, including MTWRFSS, Store Made, Cheap Monday and the latest Weekday collaboration projects. Weekday, which is looking to build its store network outside of its native Scandinavia, considers Germany one of its most important markets. Part of Fabric Scandinavia, the company continues to benefit from its parent company H&M, which has held a 60% share in Fabric Scandinavia since March 2008.
