As was announced yesterday, Wouter Kolk is stepping down as CEO of Dutch retail and fashion concept WE Fashion after six years. He will be succeeded by John Hind, the current COO of WE Fashion, starting 1st June.

“It is with great pleasure that I have led this fantastic international fashion company for six years. I am extremely proud that WE Fashion has remained financially healthy, even in these times of crisis. So it is with great confidence that I will hand over the helm to my successor John Hind," said the departing CEO.

His successor John Hind has been a member of the WE Fashion management team for five years and is currently responsible for the Sales, Retail Operations, Buying & Merchandising and Sourcing & Production divisions. The 46 year old Briton has more than 28 years of experience in international fashion retail and has worked for companies such as Arcadia, Debenhams, Pepe Jeans and Brooks Brothers UK.

Meanwhile Wouter Kolk will return to Ahold, the international supermarket operator based in the Netherlands, where he will take up his role as Executive Vice President of New Markets & Speciality Stores. The Dutchman has already occupied various positions at Ahold from 1991 to 2007, among others as CEO of drugstore Etos and wine and spirits chain Gall en Gall.

WE Fashion is part of the LOGO holding and based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The fashion chain currently runs 250 stores with 3,000 employees in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland. We Fashion has forged a partnership with the Chinese company Uniquepai, and more than twenty WE Stores have now been opened in China.
