Victorinox has lost Carl Elsener. The company announced its Senior Leader passed away on June 1st, at the age of 90 years old. Elsener worked for the company for 70 years, leading the brand and its iconic Swiss Army Knife to global success.

Born 1922 in Ibach, Carl Elsener began working for the family-owned knife factory from a young age. Following the death of his father, Elsener became head of the company and oversaw the industrialisation of Victorinox. His personal motto that characterised his leadership was ‘What was good can be made better’.
