Dutch shoe manufacturer Van Bommel is celebrating its 275th anniversary. Today the company is run by the ninth generation of the van Bommel family, Floris and Reynier van Bommel. The Dutch story started in 1734 when the small family company was the court supplier of the Queen of Netherlands. Today van Bommel sells more than 425,000 shoes. The innovative shoe label is inspired by anchorman Floris van Bommel who is giving the brand a cool rock star image. The old-young brand will celebrate its anniversary by hoisting a 25-meter-long flag at Bread & butter. There are also other anniversary plans, including a new flagship store in Brügge, Belgium and a collaboration with the Belgium rock musician Ozark Henry on a special edition of tooth sandals.
