Knitwear designer Neal Sperling began working for Philadelphia's Urban Outfitters two years ago with a line called NEAL by Neal Sperling. Now the in-house design director of the retailer, Sperling has launched Cooperative, a range of preppy, clean cut pieces for women.

"We felt like we needed a more feminine side to BDG and an aesthetic that wasn't as sweet and girly as Kimchi Blue," said Sperling, who offers zip-front cardigans featuring knitted anchors and pale blue denim jumpers to quilted cropped jackets, chambray shirtdresses, and floral cotton shorts. Details include contrast printed waistbands, sweaters linked together with pop-color yarns, and plenty of conversational prints.

"It's definitely rooted in an appreciation of details and pieces that have subtle yet special touches," Sperling added.

Cooperative is available both online and in-store with new items featured every month.
