Footwear brand United Nude has entered the Netherlands with a new flagship store in Amsterdam. Reflecting the signature designs of the brand, including its injection-molded shoes and high-end carbon fiber heels, the new store has a “dark shop” concept, meaning the store is completely dark in all areas other than those where the products are spotlighted.

The most important and prominent element of the store design is the Wall of Light, a computer-controlled LED wall which displays United Nude products as a work of art encapsulated in geometric frames.

Said Rem D Koolhaas, Architect and Creative Director of the brand: “This opening is one of the proudest moments of United Nude thus far. It completes the representation of the brand.”

Founded by Koolhaas and Galahad JD Clark, United Nude was launched in 2003 with the Möbius shoe. The brand is currently distributed in over 300 points of sale worldwide in over 30 territories. Next up for the brand in early 2010 are flagship stores in Shanghai and New York.
