Fashion is all about consumer-friendliness these days: from ‘see now, buy now’ runway shows up to the rising openness of trade shows, which are introducing areas or concepts where end consumers are more than welcome to shop products –think of Modefabriek’s Mint concept.

In line with this, upmarket trade show Capsule has announced the opening of its first pop-up store at the Platform retail complex in Los Angeles’ Culver City on October 4, 2016. Its purpose is to showcase a selection of Capsule's portfolio brands, with a shifting fashion theme each month. For its debut, the so-called Capsule Concept pop-up is focusing on the beach theme, featuring over 25 swimwear, resort wear, eyewear and accessory labels like Flagpole, Solid & Striped, Cali Dreaming, Ace & Jig, Mirth and Illesteva, among others.

“With the launch of our LA show and a real renaissance in the design and brands coming out of that city, the location made perfect sense,” said Capsule co-founder Deirdre Maloney.

Following its beach portfolio, Capsule Concept will present activewear brands in November and an assortment of independent beauty and apothecary lines in December.
