With stricter travel restrictions all over Europe and rising infection numbers in the last weeks it was already becoming quite likely that further trade shows will be cancelled in the second half of the year as well.

Still, the organizers of Première Vision remained optimistic. Until today: Recent decisions by the French government banning the resumption of events of more than 5,000 people until after 31 October together with the current international Covid-19 developments have led Première Vision to cancel the physical show at Paris Nord Villepinte scheduled 15 & 16 September. This includes also the edition of Denim Première Vision (which was originally scheduled beginning of June in Milan and had been postponed due to the pandemic to run instead as a smaller version at Première Vision).

However, Première Vision shifts its activities to its digital version: Première Vision Paris – The Digital Show is taking place on the Première Vision Marketplace website on 15 & 16 September (however, the exhibitors’ collections will remain online throughout the season).

“Suspending the physical edition of Première Vision Paris this September was a difficult decision, which we resigned ourselves to in light of the French government’s directives. However, we are fortunate to have been among the very first in this sector to invest in digital to strengthen the service we bring to the entire market and to help it make this transformation,“ says Gilles Lasbordes, general manager, Première Vision.

The Digital Show, which debuted online at the Première Vision Marketplace already this past 10 July, will now fully take over the reins for the show, and according to Première Vision will feature 1,588 e-shops, over 20,000 listed products and 8 product universes including fabrics, leather, accessories, yarns, denim, smart creation, designs and manufacturing.

Since mid-March, the Marketplace has been available at no charge to Première Vision Paris exhibitors, allowing them to freely integrate their collections into their e-shops with no limit on the number of products presented, and no obligations in terms of commitment or duration.

An additional feature on the Marketplace will be “The Futures of Fashion“: a program of 20 digital events to follow online to analyze and decode both the season and the industry’s coming challenges with fashion seminars, conferences and webinars.


At the same time, Première Vision anno8nced that it will reopen the season of physical fashion trade fairs with Made in France Première Vision, a show dedicated to French manufacturing, which will be held at the Carreau du Temple on 1 and 2 September, presenting some 100 exhibitors.

The next regular edition of Denim Première Vision is still meant to take place in Berlin, 24-25 November.
