For many years, the European outdoor industry has been debating a change of trade fair location from Friedrichshafen to Munich. In the meantime it has been decided and the event will start at the end of June. The first OutDoor by Ispo will take place from 30 June to 3 July at the fairground in Munich.

More than 950 international exhibitors are expected at the premiere. Nine halls with more than 96,000 square metres of exhibition space in the east of the Munich exhibition centre are intended to give visitors the opportunity to experience a new, more open understanding of "outdoor". "The first OutDoor by Ispo in Munich marks the dawn of a new outdoor age," said the trade fair organisers. In close cooperation with the industry, the Ispo team tried to develop a modern, consumer-centred concept. The aim is to inspire as many people as possible worldwide, to break down inhibitions and to show the multitude of possibilities and varieties of "outdoor" that consumers have long been experiencing.

The basis continues to be classic outdoor activities such as climbing or hiking, but they are partly reinterpreted and transformed into forms such as bouldering and speed hiking. New segments such as mountain biking, trail running and water sports are being added. In addition, OutDoor by Ispo opens up sectors outside the outdoor industry and thus enables inspiration and valuable knowledge transfer from other areas, such as environmental technologies or digital trade and technology solutions. Here, the trade fair company takes advantage of its own network of other industrial trade fairs and congress formats.

In addition to expanding the outdoor theme, another focus is on sustainability. In the apparel industry, the outdoor industry has long since assumed a pioneering role in terms of awareness of sustainability and social responsibility. The trade fair itself wants to reflect this and has developed a holistic sustainability concept that is to be implemented as a fact-based sustainability guideline with concrete recommendations for emissions, water and waste management. Based on OutDoor by Ispo and the outdoor industry, it will be extended to the entire Ispo platform and exhibition location.

Also new is the ticket model, which is clearly intended to motivate retailers to visit the trade fair: Retailers, wholesalers and distributors will receive their day ticket in the Early Bird tariff from 15 Euros until 20 May 2019. Other groups of trade visitors will start at a ticket price of 75 Euros.

On the last day of the fair, 3 July, the two-day Ispo Digitize Summit will also start, at which the industry will address important topics of digitalization in the sports business.
