June 23 & 24 sees the second edition of Kingpins24, Kingpins’ online denim conference. After the premiere in April Kingpins24 will again run as a two-day digital denim event with a mix of on-demand and live content.

Since due to the Corona outbreak the New York June edition of Kingpins had to be cancelled, Kingpins24 will therefore especially target the US-based denim industry.

“It will never replace a Kingpins show, but Kingpins24 has proven to be an idea that the denim industry responded to and found valuable. We’re incredibly humbled by the success of Kingpins24 and have identified ways in which we can improve on our concept. Our goal remains to be the platform – whether IRL, as the kids say, or online – where the denim industry gathers to share information, ideas, innovation and inspiration,” says Andrew Olah, founder of Kingpins Show and Transformers Foundation.

One key change that will be made to the June event will be that members of the denim supply chain that are not Kingpins New York exhibitors will be allowed to apply to join the online event as exhibitors. The updated concept will also include a more streamlined livestream, with a focus on webinars, interviews, panels and conversations.

On-demand content will return with a wide variety of content produced by Kingpins, Kingpins exhibitors and industry partners.

Kingpins24 will go live at 9am EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) on June 23 and wrap up at approximately 5.30pm on June 24. All content (except for the Kingpins trend forecast session) is free for all attendees. You can find the official schedule here.

One of the program highlights happens on 23 June at noon when ‘The Future of Trade Shows’ will be discussed by Andrew Olah, Première Vision’s Guglielmo Olearo, Mostafiz Uddin of Bangladesh Denim Expo, Olaf Schmidt of Messe Frankfurt and Sebastian Klinder of Munich Fabric Start/Bluezone in a panel talk hosted by Tricia Carey of Lenzing/Carved in Blue.

SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL is one of the media partners of Kingpins24 and will also contribute to the event on both days: on 23 June, 11am, you can follow a live hosting session with Kingpins’ Vivian Wang and SI’s Sabine Kühnl and Dirk Lehmann; on 24 June at 3.12pm Sabine will interview Lena Hartog of crowdaction platform CollAction about its Slow Fashion initiative.

According to the organizers the first Kingpins24 event drew nearly 10,000 visitors to its website (with 3,500 viewers tuning in to the livestream) during its April 22 & 23 run and saw nearly 29,000 views of its on-demand content, including more than 13,000 views during the show and in the week following.
