Things are afoot at the British Fashion Council- the organisation has announced that Natalie Massenet, the founder of Net a Porter and one of the UK’s most powerful industry figures- is to join the BFC as Chairman from 1st January 2013. She will replace Harold Tillman, who will step down at the end of the year after completing an extended term in the same role. The BFC’s executive board chose their new recruit on her merits as a forward thinking entrepreneur and creative business instincts. The news of Massenet’s appointment has broken only days before London Fashion Week is due to kick off, and it will no doubt be a hot topic among those attending the event.
