The Denimsandjeans organization serving the denim industry through trade shows and online platform recently launched De-Brands, its new B2B global sourcing app connected to a specific Web portal. De-Brands aims to connect buyers and suppliers of the denim and sportswear supply chain through a single platform.

Why did you launch this app?
Having worked in the denim industry, I have seen how the entire marketing and sourcing process is getting tougher year after year. There has been an exponential increase of companies offering higher-research products while enlarging their fabric and service selection. Denim suppliers want to offer their new products to the maximum number of buyers in the shortest time possible and start shipping their new developments to buyers across the globe. They also participate in shows (including, for instance, our Denimsandjeans) where they meet buyers and start carrying ahead discussions with them. All this takes a huge cost in terms of energy and time for manufacturers, while, on the other hand, buyers like, for instance, designers, sourcing experts and merchandisers, have to select what best suits their needs in a market flooded with products.
We wanted to find an alternative through which we could reduce time and resources used on both sides. This led us to develop our De-Brands App (along with a Web application). The app enables suppliers to create realistic showrooms for their products to be immediately seen by global buyers. At the same time conversations around new products can start immediately.

What benefits do companies get by joining the app? Can manufacturers also carry ahead transactions?

Manufacturers can immediately get connected to brands and retailers, and insiders registered in our app can start interacting with them. They can immediately present their showrooms to brands, chat with them on different products and start business transactions–though these ones can only happen offline as we are not a B2C app where financial transactions are taking place. Our platform enables companies to show their product strengths to buyers and start business with them. The app is already available through Apple Store. We hope that also our Android version is launched shortly.

Which companies use the app already?

There are different ones from various countries including India, China, and Pakistan. Among them there are Artistic Fabrics and Garments, Crescent Bahuman, Uco-Raymond, Prosperity, Naveena, Anubha and others. Another ten companies from Turkey, Bangladesh and China, among others, are in the process of joining us.
