The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is owned by 100% by PVH Corp., announced that it has entered an agreement to bring its European tailored apparel business in-house, going into effect as of the spring 2013 season.

Tommy Hilfiger tailored apparel was introduced to the European market in October 1998 under a licensing agreement operated by the Holy Fashion Group. With the partnership, Tommy Hilfiger began to offer high quality tailored clothing, dress shirts and ties, a business that became very successful over the years and today represents a retail value over $100 million. The transaction is expected to close by Dec. 31, 2012. Until then, the holy Fashion Group will continue to operate the business.

The new in-house Tailored division will be headed by Michael Berngruber, who joins the Tommy Hilfiger Group as Vice President Tailored clothing Europe. Berngruber brings along over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry, and, for the past 10 years, has held various managerial positions at Hugo Boss. Moreover, Marcel Ostwald will join the Tommy Hilfiger Group, in the position as Creative Director of the Tailored division. Ostwald has over nine years of experience in the tailored clothing business, most recently as the Senior Head of Creative Management for Boss Selection and Tailored lines.

“This acquisition represents an exciting opportunity for us to build further on the solid base that the Holy Fashion Group has developed over the years,” commented Daniel Grieder, CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Europe. “By directly integrating the business into the overall Tommy Hilfiger European organization and commercial infrastructure, we feel we can develop further areas of potential throughout the region.”
