Portland’s Retail Innovation Group has launched TheClymb.com, an online private sale network built to deliver insider pricing to members on performance apparel, footwear and gear.

“We work with category-leading performance brands that have earned enormous credibility and devout followings,” said TheClymb.com co-founder and President Cec Annett. “Our goal is to reward members with access to the same insider deals on premium gear that athletes and industry professionals have enjoyed for years.”

Exclusive arrangements with TheClymb.com's partner brands allow member-only access to pricing as low as 70% below retail during three-day sale events. Brand partners to date have included Icebreaker, Suunto, Dakine, Outdoor Research, Keen, R.E.D. Protection, Helly Hansen, Merrell, Kuhl and CamelBak.

Since TheClymb.com’s first soft beta online sale in November 2009, the site has added thousands of members each week. Membership is free but by invitation only, whether acquired by requesting access by invite from TheClymb.com or being invited by an existing member. Upon joining, members are offered incentives to invite like-minded friends, family and colleagues, and are rewarded with a $10 credit for each referral’s first purchase. Shipping is even carbon-neutral.

The company said it plans to feature up to three brand events per week from the outdoor, snowsports and bike industry's leading brands in the months ahead.
