Just after the inauguration of its new flagship store in Forte dei Marmi (see picture), opened 6th July 2013, Stone Island has announced the opening of a new flagship store in Munich set to take place in September 2013.

The 100sqm shop, with two windows and a glass door is located at number 27 of the prestigious shopping street Maximilianstrasse. It will host the Stone Island and Stone Island Junior collections, and the Stone Island Shadow Project. It is the second flagship store opened in Germany after the one launched in March 2012 in Sylt, the island and holiday destination facing the North Sea.

“I have been looking for a long time for the right location in Munich. It is a city with which I have a strong and long-time link and I am very pleased to have found this great space in Maximillianstrasse. After Sylt, we are strengthening our investment in Germany, an extremely important market for us, which is giving us very positive feedback," commented Carlo Rivetti, President, owner and creative director, Sportswear Company.

The company is carefully focused on expansion in Germany, especially after the opening of its German branch in 2010, established in Munich and managing both Germany and Austria. At present Stone Island is working with Germany and Austria with 150 multibrand stores whose sales represent the 11% of the 2013 ordered value, with a growth of 20% versus 2012. The results of the company are in line with its global growth, closing 2012 with a turnover of 60,790,000€ (+17% compared to 2011) and foreseeing a growth of 12% for 2013. Export counts for 61%, while the company’s domestic market (Italy) accounts for 39%, also registering a +6.2% growth when compared with 2012.

By September 2013 there will be 11 Stone Island stores worldwide: six in Italy, two in France (Paris and Cannes), one in London, two in Germany (Sylt and Munich), two in Korea and four in China.
