With its motto of “Spaces,” the 17th edition of the Bright skate and streetwear trade fair takes place for the second time at the Alte Münze (Old Mint) venue in Berlin-Mitte.

The new, centrally located venue was given a very positive reception in January and 85 percent of the exhibition space was booked by early March, said Thomas Martini, co-founder of the trade fair. In addition to all the important exhibitors from last time around (including Vans, Puma, Wemoto, Iriedaily, Element, and Lifetime Collective), there are many new labels from the UK expected this summer. In order to accommodate the larger number of brands, the former catering area adds 500 square meters (nearly 5,400 square feet) of extra exhibition space, with food and drinks to be served outdoors instead.

The trade show will feature a highly varied program, including a BBQ and skating event on a freight ferry in the Spree River right in front of MTV headquarters. There will also be a new edition of Bright magazine, which will have a new editorial concept that does not talk about brands from the skate/streetwear scene but instead features topics like art, photography, and film.
