Reiner Seiz, former member of the board of Puma, and Systain, the international CSR-Consulting company, have agreed to collaborate on projects with the aim to increase sustainability in the textile and clothing sector.

Reiner Seiz, owner of Seiz Consulting, is glad about the collaboration and comments: “Sustainability within the scope of a global supply chain management gets more and more important for all market participants, from the premium brand up to the discount shop. During my travels through developing countries for more than 20 years I have seen a lot of grief and poverty. That is why I have always seen it as my task to take care, within the scope of my possibilities, of our suppliers with adequate working conditions and remuneration. I also feel very strongly about the responsible handling of resources. Sustainability should be a firm component in each company’s philosophy and strategy. The consulting firm Systain understands this and creates fact and brand oriented consulting based on these methods.”

Prior to being self-employed, Seiz was Managing Director of Puma SE and directed procurement organization and the worldwide supply chain management for 23 years. He now advises companies on global procurement including product design, development, production, intra-corporate supply chain and logistics processes, as well as sustainability strategies and their implementation.

Systain Director Stephan Engel says: "Reiner Seiz has long standing industry experience in the areas of footwear, apparel and accessories, and is an absolute expert on strategic supply chain management in global supply markets. The first projects are already in the pipeline. If we succeed to anchor sustainability by smart and business-oriented strategies in operations then the textile industry is a great step forward."
