Following programs in South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania, Skate Aid, the charity for kids and teens launched by skateboarding legend Titus Dittmann, recently unveiled its latest project in Afghanistan, working in collaboration with Grünhelme e.V to create facilities appropriate for after-school recreation. Together, the organizations built a school and integrated a skate-park financed by Skate-Aid, and for next spring will host skateboarder and Skate-Aid activist Marc Zanger. The idea is to teach kids the sport of skateboarding. Titus, the company founded by Dittman in 1978, is one of the biggest suppliers of skateboards and streetwear in Europe and has since upheld the belief that skateboarding knows no boundaries.
