This winter edition of Show & Order kicked off the Berlin fashion week by starting already on Monday, one day prior to all other fairs. With this decision, fair organizer Verena Malta reacted to the buyers’ and exhibitors’ needs - as reported on sportswear-international before. And the attendance on the first day has confirmed this decision. Juline Zenk, Miss Goodlife, stated: “We had all key-accounts here and were busy all the time.” This was the impression of most of the exhibitors: the fair was well attended on its first day. Buyers and retailer took their opportunity to do business.
In terms of fashion, fur and sequins ruled. The fair presented a round portfolio of womenswear collections targeting boutiques and high value retailers. Denim-labels were rare, and only one was presented: James Jeans. And surprisingly also one menswear label exhibited at Show & Order: Herrenschatz offers two menswear lines featuring leather, denim, wool, prints and pure materials as well as accessories.
Although multi label stores and concept stores might not find their fashion segment at the fair, the numerous accessories and jewelry labels might cater their needs. The fair shows selected labels at attractive price points that could attract consumers and encourage them to stay in stores longer. And as from the experts’ point of view up to 15% of revenue comes from accessories, this segment is definitely worth a visit.
