This could be the dreamy 262 square-meter Mediterranean villa of a Hollywood star, but it’s actually a shoe palace. Ugg’s new store in Disney Springs –Walt Disney World Resort in Florida– induces visitors to have a longing for summer. “Inspiration came from the Californian roots of the brand, its connections to nature and its modernist vibe –a sense of stylish living that’s both ‘off duty and ‘on air’,” explained Joe Evans, creative director at global design agency Checkland Kindleysides, responsible for the concept. A feeling of warmth comes through material picks like wood and the dominating earth tones all around.
Cinemagraph wall panels in the store place us in front of breath-taking seaside views, while displaying product on bi-fold doors. A classics bar houses the world-famed brand sheepskin boots, alongside a customization bar and digital platform to access exclusive Ugg content.
Similar designs to the one in Florida will be reproduced in various top locations later this year, such as Shanghai, New York City and Tokyo. The concept is scalable across different formats like wholesale, shop in shops and showrooms.
