Stockholm-based streetwear and sneakers retailer Caliroots has taken over Berlin's renowned menswear retailer Soto as of September 15, 2016. Soto continues to operate as its own entity, with its own store and online shop. Also the three founders Philip Gaedicke, Omer Ben-Michael and David Fischer, will remain in the business and continue to drive the store’s buying, as well as manage the day to day operations.
Meanwhile Caliroots's known-how in ecommerce and logistics, financing, and business support shall ensure continued growth for the Soto business.
„We are very excited to announce this partnership with Caliroots today. We have worked the last 6 years on establishing a strong premium menswear retail brand in the market and this team-up will now allow us to finally also translate this vision further online. Their strengths in logistics, business structure and in keeping integrity within their market while growing aggressively, will all be of great benefit for Soto’s future growth plans“, says Philip Gaedicke.
Caliroots currently operates seven brick-and-mortar stores and two online shops with its different store concepts Caliroots (streetwear and sneakers), C Store (upper casualwear) and Hollywood (skate). Soto's brand list which includes names such as Acne Studios, Maison Kitsuné, or T by Alexander Wang will expand the assortment in the premium sector.
