Interstoff Asia Essential – Spring 2014 will open its doors at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on 19 – 21 March, 2014. The international trade fair for textiles and garment accessories hosted 229 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions last year. The next edition will be distinguished by a larger exhibitor product variety and a fringe program, covering major aspects and innovations of the textile industry. Besides sourcing products, visitors can also learn about the latest technologies and market trends through the Research & Education Zone, a series of seminars hosted by well-known experts in the industry and the Designers’ Studio, where outfits made by several local up-and-coming designers can be found. “Once more, functional and eco fabrics will be a large focus while the four country and region pavilions – Elite China, Fine Japan, Great Korea and Amazing Taiwan – will feature a bigger scale and larger product variety,” said Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.

Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd – the fair's organizer – is confident that the improved economic situation in the US and Europe will benefit exhibitors at the show. According to data released by the Hong Kong government, exports rose by 3.6% in 2013 compared to 2012, while they jumped 6.5% in the fourth quarter last year from the preceding three months. “We have seen the economy picking up recently. We believe this will promote more trading activity in the city, and eventually will benefit the fair as more buyers will be interested in sourcing high-end fabrics, which is a major focus at Interstoff Asia Essential,” said Wendy Wen.
