Boot brand Palladium and military outerwear manufacturer Alpha Industries launched a new collaborative capsule collection at a special event in New York’s Garment Center last week.

Now available at Palladium standalone stores, online at and, Urban Outfitters and other specialty retailers, the Palladium x Alpha Industries collection includes six unisex boots and a slim, colorblocked version of Alpha Industries’ famous MA-1 Flight Jacket, called the Urban Explorer.

Retail prices range from $75 for the boots to $175 for the jacket.

The six boots utilize the same nylon that is used in Alpha Industries’ jackets and are lined with a bright orange interior like the jackets. A cobranded tag and zip detail are also reminiscent of the iconic outerwear.

The collaboration came about since both brands share a military heritage. Palladium began in 1920 as a manufacturer of airplane tires and became a boot brand in 1947. Alpha Industries began in 1959 and has manufactured for the US Department of Defense ever since.

“Alpha Industries’ roots as an original military contractor, combined with Palladium’s own history as an aircraft tire manufacturer and as a supplier of the French Foreign Legion make this match-up truly authentic,” said Hommy Diaz, global product line manager for Palladium, in a statement. “We used Alpha’s original materials, our classic silhouettes and small design elements to capture our shared military heritage in a modern capsule for fashion-forward consumers.”

“This collaboration with Palladium was a natural fit for us,” added Michael Cirker, CEO of Alpha Industries. “Our parallel history as military vendors lent to one another and I am very excited about the results from our work together.”
