Puma (www.puma.com) has entered the fast-paced world of Moto GP for spring 2006. The Germany-based sports giant’s new Moto Collection, created for moto riders and their stylish fans alike, utilizes protective yet fashionable designs developed in conjunction with sponsored riders.

The collection, for men only, will be sold at select specialty retailers and Puma Concept Stores worldwide starting early next year.

The range’s lifestyle apparel pieces, including a standout Moto Jacket and the jeans-like Soft Protective Pants, fight the elements and also provide basic protection. The clothes are made from water-resistant 100% nylon oxford and are padded with Thinsulate, which offers warmth without bulk. Other key features include ventilation channels and reflective piping details.

The jewel of the Moto Collection’s footwear offerings is the Moto 1000, a stylish performance boot with advanced technological and design support such as Point Break ankle protection technology (which provides a controlled 360-degree ankle rotation to safeguard against hyper-extension of the ankles), an inner bootie, exterior plates, replaceable forefoot sliders and an anti-slip rubber outsole.

The range’s other standout shoe is the Brutale RR, a leather lifestyle boot with a motorsport silhouette and gear-shifting device that helps prevent wear and tear.

Established in Herzogenaurach, Germany in 1948, Puma distributes its products in more than 80 countries.
