Donwan Harrell, the creative director of Prps, has launched a new line called King Krash comprised of jeans, cut-off denim vests, and leather jackets produced with vintage wash techniques and unique detailing. It is a younger line for men that has a similar distribution to Prps, but is more affordable. Initial inspiration came from illegal street racing gangs from the 1970s such as Satan Spades and Passaic Street Racers. “King Krash has given me the opportunity to design with a younger customer in mind,” said Harrell. “As a designer, I gravitate towards the creative manifestation of the rebel in youth culture. All of these people were fiercely independent artisans who decided to do something different. They worked with what they were stuck with; some were bored, some hated it, but they all flipped their situations into something they loved.” King Krash will be stocked in specialty retailers such as 14 oz. and Mintus for S/S 10. Prices range from €150-210.
