The next edition of Project New York ( will help 16 young brands sprout new business. The show, which was purchased by MAGIC producer Advanstar from founder-producer Sam Ben-Avraham in August, will debut a new section called Seed that will feature apparel, footwear and jewelry from the following up-and-coming, first-time Project exhibitors: Rag & Bone/CC41 (, Origami, Invisible:Man, Peg Leg, CLAW $, Gabriel Urist, Worn Piece, Jhung Yuro, Troglodyte Homunculus, Rod Keenan, Angie Keefer, Spring & Clifton, Ani Bags, Lemar & Dauley and Skull & Bones by Jared Paul Stern.

The brands in Seed were hand-selected by the show’s staff and range from a New York-based premium denim label to a Japanese streetwear brand.

In addition to the new Seed section, the show will take place at a new location, the Javits Center on Manhattan’s West Side. It’ll be the first time the ever-expanding show has been held under one roof in five seasons.

Ben-Avraham, who remains aboard as Project’s leader, says that more than 400 exhibitors have already been signed for Project New York and says it will be the largest edition of the show yet.

Other never-before-seen features will include inflatable offices, rooms and meeting spaces created by the UK-based company Inflate and free distribution of Voss water at the show’s Center Bar. The concierge company Quintessentially will also be there to aide vendors and attendees.

Project New York runs January 16-18.
