Exclusive fabrics show View, which took place in the high-class premises of Prisco Haus at Prinzregentenplatz in Munich from 10th – 11th July, presented a selective portfolio of approximately 140 first-class fabric collections ranging from trendy fancies and precious fabrics to high end sportswear materials and top quality basics. The trade show concept by the makers of Munich Fabric Start presented the first trends of the new season with a selective, high quality portfolio. The event has grown to become an industry fixture, confirmed not only by counting an extraordinary 65% increase in visitors, but also by the consistently convincing quality of the brands presented. Guests in Munich again included the leading ready-to-wear manufacturers and renowned representatives of the apparel industry who came to browse the trends and innovations for the new 2014/15 Autumn/Winter season. Regarding denim weavers, Italdenim and Royo were among the exhibitors.

Many weaving mills and manufacturers had made impressive advancements with their collections. The most striking trend that crystallized at View was the mixing of different techniques: by means of woven effects involving cellophane or Lurex yarns, double-faced woven constructions and three-dimensional weaving patterns. This trend is also evident in down stream processing, such as polyurethane coating on textured cloth, the overprinting of motifs, pigment-metallization and neoprene-bonding or wadding. In addition, various exciting jacquards were on show, minimal for progressive menswear and highly diverse graphic patterns, or paisley variations for womenswear. The jersey in many variants is still on trend, from foamy-bonded, full materials that can even be used as coats, to very fine fabrics with a negligee-type of sex appeal. The print segment highlights took the shape of double motifs and “space” prints, and also in plain floral and animal patterns.

The success of the recent edition of View confirms the organisers’ decision to retain the international date as a kick-off to the season and even to extend and develop the show further in the near future, the company says.
