The seasonal style circus known as New York Fashion Week concluded its spring/summer 2014 presentation last night with the Marc Jacobs show. Spanning nine days and encompassing a whopping 350 shows and presentations (and that doesn’t include the parties), the event again included big names such as Tommy Hilfiger, Custo Barcelona, Diesel, Nautica, Y-3 and Desigual, which made its NYFW debut with a colorful and upbeat show last Thursday that featured smiling and dancing models.

That said, some of the best and most original designs were created by up-and-comers and Fashion Week newbies, including Odd, Mexican designer Paola Hernandez, the new men’s leather bag and accessories brand Stroble, the Korean menswear brand Beyond Closet, streetwear label Highland, lovely womenswear line Novis by designer Jordana Warmflash, menswear designers Lucio Castro of Lucio Castro and Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss, young womenswear designer Azede Jean-Pierre (who was inspired by insects and nature for her second collection), casual brand Unruly Heir,  and Mordekai by Ken Borochov, a line of avant-garde and outrageous accessories that spanned from headpieces and graphic necklaces to elaborate, decorative chastity belts.

Be sure to check out the accompanying men’s and women’s picture galleries to see some of the best looks we spied at the 45+ shows and presentations we attended in The Tents at Lincoln Center and numerous offsite venues all over Manhattan….
