After having worked for the last two years with a team of young designers on the Issey Miyake Men’s collection, Issey Miyake has appointed Yusuke Takahashi as designer of the collection from S/S 2014.

Miyake commented: "My aim was to bring about a new vision infused with the creative energy of this next generation. Now I think it is time to entrust the future of my Men's collection to one particular designer, who, in my opinion has the ability to embody change, whilst always remaining faithful to our spirit of creation, research and innovation."

Takahashi was born in Tokyo in 1985 and completed his fashion design course at Bunka Fashion Graduate University in 2010. In that same year he joined Miyake Design Studio and participated in several projects such as Reality Lab and 132 5 Issey Miyake. In 2012 he became a member of the Issey Miyake Men design team.

Takahashi will be supported by a team of diverse talents, among which Manabu Kikuchi whose great expertise in textile development has been of great importance at Issey Miyake. The first Issey Miyake Men collection designed by Takahashi will be presented in Paris on 27th June 2013.
