On November 20th, the British shoe brand Clarks opened a new store for women, men and children in the shopping mall Centro in Oberhausen. After New York, London, Barcelona and Shanghai, the 200 sq. m store with 100 sq. m sales space is the fifth store with the new store design.

The debut in Oberhausen was successful and one highlight was Marie Nasemann, finalist at Germany’s Next Top Model. Rolf Huigen, Clarks director of Central and Eastern Europe: “We are presenting a new generation of shop design and we are happy with the feedback.”

The redesign of the store carries a number of original store features. Elements of the brand identity inspired by the Clarks archive, a new wall design, authentic wood, leather and furniture are showing the new direction. The women’s section is warm and colorful, with hanging pendants forming a chandelier over the front table. The men’s area has been designed with a rustic and industrial feel with wooden tables and angle-poise lamps. The children’s section has been updated to complement the new adult areas.

The current store-fit didn’t connect with the new target consumers and the new design will bring life to the craftsmanship and heritage of Clarks in a modern way, which represents the philosophy of the British brand. All new stores will be designed in the new style and some existing premium stores will be changed in near future. In total Clarks operates 173 stores in Europe including 15 in Germany.
