The Capsule trade show and its producer, BPMW are launching their first consumer event this weekend in SoHo in New York City. Called Capsule Market Square, the temporary holiday shopping market at 82 Mercer Street will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and feature more than 100 brands from the Capsule community. The vendors will sell new merchandise and one-of-a-kind samples of men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, art, home goods and furniture.
Participating brands include Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, Naked & Famous Denim, Nudie Jeans, Creatures of Comfort, Onia, Swims, to name just a few.
The event will also feature The Editors’ Closet, a section selling new and gently used items and swag donated by local fashion editors and stylists.  Proceeds from this booth will benefit the Ali Forney Center in New York, a not-for-profit organization that provides shelter and services for homeless LGBTQ youth. The items that are not sold will be donated directly to the center to help clothe the kids it assists.
Shoppers who spend more than $500 at Capsule Market Square will be eligible to pull from a grab bag of gifts that are valued between $70 and $300 each.  In addition, representatives from make-up brand Bobbi Brown will be on hand to offer advice and personal touch-ups.
A special private invite-only VIP shopping night/preview runs tonight from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
