MIPEL - The Bagshow, the international leather goods and bags trade show held in Fieramilano, Rho Pole, Milan from 15th - 18th September 2013, will present a series of new initiatives for the coming edition.

The show will host about 400 brands over a total of 20,000sqm and will launch a series of projects aimed at involving visitors, exhibitors and consumers to take place both in the city of Milan and via the web. “We strongly believe that all of these initiatives are an antidote to the present reduction of consumption in many segments," commented Giorgio Cannara, president Mipel and Aimpes, “By creating a series of new initiatives we will have the possibility to pick opportunities from countries that are willing to buy, and to stimulate those that are more static."

Mipel has just disclosed its newest portal @mipel, an on-line platform that will work in two directions - on one side it will work as an online version of the show that is open all year long and will present, to certified and registered customers, its exhibitor’s upcoming collections, as well as presenting to consumers, its exhibitor’s current collections. Thanks to this instrument companies will be able to connect and communicate with customers globally when the show is closed. The portal will also work as an e-commerce platform, through which customers from all over the world will be able to buy items directly from companies.

This is the first time Mipel will be represented in Milan city centre. On the night of 17th September, as part of the Milan edition of Vogue Fashion Night Out, the show has partnered up with a network of key stores in the locality such as Pellux, the prestigious Milanese leather goods store in Piazzetta San Fedele, Bric's flagship store in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and the new Cromia boutique in Via Spiga. To celebrate the debut of @mipel, cocktails, events and promotional initiatives will take place outside of the shows pavilions.
