Italian textile fair Milano Unica has recently announced a series of novelties. From 1st to 3rd July, they will hold the Milano Unica Precollezioni edition, which is focused on presenting pre-collections for f/w 2016/2017 to be held at the Pavillion 3 of Fieramilanocity in Milan. It will be a “zero” experimental edition destined to haute-de-gamme ‘Made in Italy’ specialists and is aimed at melting mostly design offices. The event will take place almost at the same time as Anteprima by Lineapelle, the specialized leather trend show, happening on 2 and 3 July 2015.
They also confirmed that Milano Unica Usa will take place for the first time in New York at the Jacob Javits Center from 20 to 22 July 2015. They expect to host about 80 exhibitors. As for their Chinese edition, buyers’ participation will be upon invitation only.
Another announcement was recently made. Stefano Fadda is the new creative director and trend commission responsible for the Milano Unica textile trade show. With the upcoming editions of July and September 2015 of the Milano Unica shows presenting f/w 2016/2017 novelties, the What’s Cool company, managed by Fadda, is researching and presenting new trend directions. The new creative director succeeds Angelo Uslenghi, visionary and forward thinking textile and trend specialist and 30-year long ambassador of Milano Unica, who decided to stop guiding the style commission of the show.
Fadda was born in Sondrio in 1971 and studied architecture at Politecnico of Milan. In his previous professions he worked as an art director, image, marketing and communication consultant for fashion and luxury goods including projects for Prada, Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Riccardo Tisci, Frette, Calzedonia, Intimissimi and Antony Morato.
