The trade fair Maroc in Mode and Maroc Sourcing will take place 24 – 25, October in Casablanca. 300 companies from the Euromed region, as well as Moroccan clothing manufacturers will exhibit in the Conference and Exhibition Centre l'Office des Changes. The fairs are organised by Amith, the trade body for Moroccan textile and clothing manufacturers, in collaboration with Maroc Export.

Maroc in Mode provides a platform for suppliers of fashionable clothing, quick response and flash programmes. Maroc Sourcing provides a platform for the field of fabrics, textile accessories, laundry services and equipment and services. This year’s edition has a high level of participation from Turkish manufacturers in sourcing, where they have their own exhibitor’s area. The fashion fair will preview womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, jeans, body and beachwear for S/S 2014.

Jeans and piece-dyed casual pants from Morocco are enjoying an ever-growing demand. In addition to the fashionable aspect, the reasons for the strong demand for jeans lies primarily in the sustainability of production: no hazardous sandblasting is done, and a significant reduction of water consumption is also achieved with the use of ozone washes and so-called ‘waterless’ jeans. Trousers, t-shirts, jersey separates and knitwear are currently jostling for the other spots on the demand scale.
