Maison Martin Margiela will release a line of eyewear in collaboration with Cutler & Gross for spring/summer 2013 entitled “Poids Plume.” The collection consists of four styles made from weightless stainless steel and fine wire that create a sense of simple delicacy while making it look as though the glasses float over the wearer’s face.

Two sunglasses models will also be released. The “Clip” employs a combination of metal and acetate that gives the illusion of clip-on shades and comes in three varying frame-shapes and colors including dark tortoise shell with black rims, a copper gold metal and a gunmetal black. The “Lamex” model, meanwhile, appears to have double-layered frames as a result of various filters applied to the acetate, thus creating opposing shapes.

The line will be available in Maison Martin Margiela boutiques as well as select eyewear retailers starting in November.
