The fifth and final edition of Denim by PV at the Docks in Paris — the next edition will take place at the more central location of Halle Freyssinet — drew 1,689 or 18.5% more visitors than its year-ago show and 13.8% more than its June show. Foreign attendees were also up, with visitors from France up 11% and Italy still leading, followed by Germany (+32%), Turkey (stable), Great Britain (+57%), Spain (+21%), The Netherlands (+5%) and Belgium (+17%). US visitors also showed greater interest in the specialist trade show, with 21% more attendees.

Among the top brands visiting the trade show were Mustang, Lee, Wrangler, Desigual, Zara, Seven for All Mankind, Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Kaporal, Replay, Sportmax, Seven7, Tommy Hilfiger, Pepe Jeans, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, DKNY Jeans, Gant and Napapijri.

In all, the event hosted 62 exhibitors including fiber producers, weavers, manufacturers, finishers and launderers, each offering their newest products and developments for S/S 11. The focus was mainly on suppleness, lightness, stretch and paler tones for overall 50s-inspired collections. Also significant were compact fabrics, intensity and a dark roughness to jeanswear with a tough-guy influence. At the same time, linen-like irregularities, detailed structures and looks reminiscent of the past were reinvented with a more contemporary spirit.
