Fashionistas, mark your calendars! Following the long holiday break called “ferragosto” in August, Milan will play host to the following not-to-be missed fashion events:

September 16-19
Located at Fiera Milano City, Milano Unica unites five Italian fabric trade shows: Ideabiella (menswear fabrics), Ideacomo (womenswear fabrics), Moda In (avant-garde), Prato Expo (textile collections) and Shirt Avenue (shirting fabrics).

September 17-20
Covering 74,115 sq. meters of Fiera Milano Rho’s grounds, Micam Shoevent will feature the s/s 2009 footwear collections by 1,098 Italian and 574 foreign companies.

September 25-28
White will debut two new sections and present a total of 220 exhibitors in three areas. The new sections called “Superstudio Set” are presumed to give space to more trend-oriented womenswear collections and to take place at Superstudio 13 and Magna Pars. Under them will be “Dutch Touch,” showcasing a selection of Dutch designers, while contemporary fashion brands including Martin Margiela will be hosted at Superstudio Più (via Tortona 27).

September 25-28
This four-day event organized by Pitti Immagine and held at the ex-Ansaldo space at via Tortona 54 and 58 offers innovative and advanced womenswear collections for the s/s 2009 season.
