Italian denim and sportswear brand Meltin’ Pot link:( has launched its "Spring ‘05 Windows Contest" with top retailers across the United States.

Meltin’ Pot will award one grand-prize winner hotel accommodations and two business-class round-trip plane tickets to Barcelona for the special edition of Bread & Butter taking place there in July.

The contest challenges retailers to decorate their store windows using Meltin’ Pot’s new point of sale materials in the most creative and innovative way.

Lulu’s (Miami), LASC (Los Angeles), Villains Vault (San Francisco), E Street Denim (Highland Park, IL), Untitled (Chicago), Rhythm Clothiers (West Palm Beach), Detour (Richmond), Nirvana (Red Bank, NJ), Riccardi (Boston), Downtown (Brooklyn), Post Blue Jeans (Miami Beach), Gerry’s Menswear (New York City), Pittsburgh Jeans (Pittsburgh), Caruso, Caruso (Birmingham, MI), and Up Against the Wall (select locations) are some of the stores that have agreed to enter the contest.

The shop windows will be trimmed for two weeks, from April 8 to 22, and digital photos of the window displays will be e-mailed to Meltin’ Pot’s New York headquarters for judging.

"It’s a great way to generate excitement and exposure for the brand on a retail level. The retailers are getting competitive because they want to win," says Vince Gonzales, COO of Meltin’ Pot in the USA. "It’s fun for us too, we love hearing their excitement."
