What the brand stands for:
After just four weeks on the market, F65.0’s breakout sneaker is exceeding expectations. Born from sketches and brain-storming sessions that began in 2017 with founders Florian Hofbauer and Manuel von Gadomski, the F65.0 Sneaker Jahn (in both high and low top form) was built to cut through a crowded market of not-very-well-made sneakers to deliver a durable, timeless and unique product in both make and design.

The founders are self-proclaimed sneakerheads with varied backgrounds —Hofbauer has experience with custom sneakers, vintage furniture and star gastronomy while Gadomski used a business management degree to work in direct sales for watches. They now run F65.0 with Nico Hoffmeister, who heads a start-up for fashion and the textile industry in Mannheim. And what is actually behind the name of the label? F65.0 is the medical code for fetishism. This can only be explained by the love of the founders for sneakers.

Since childhood, Hofbauer and Gadomski have been scavenging for unusual and original sneakers. But as the market became saturated with the latest seasonal trends, Hoffmeister told Sportswear the quality has suffered.

“Although the market offers an unbelievable abundance of variants, unfortunately the selection for long-lasting sneakers as well as those manufactured to very high quality standards is rather ‘thin,’” he said.

Cue F65.0's Jahn. The sneaker is produced in a family-run production facility in Kosovo, where shoe-making craftsmanship has been passed down through generations. Hoffmeister said the materials, outer fabrics and organically tanned leather are also sourced directly from Europe. After positive feedback and better-than-expected sales figures, F65.0 has announced its second model will be released this summer.
