Liz Claiborne and Narciso Rodriguez have parted ways. “Initially we both saw significant opportunities to develop the collection in multiple product categories, channels and geographies, but differences emerged as to how best to achieve this organic growth,” said William L. McComb, CEO, Liz Claiborne Inc., which entered a partnership with Rodriguez in May 2007. As a result of the agreement to split, Rodriguez will regain full ownership of his namesake trademark and business. The American designer has since expressed plans to realize the company’s “full potential as a luxury brand.” Liz Claiborne Inc., meanwhile, will cease ongoing investment in the Narciso Rodriguez brand.
