Lee Jeans has collaborated with Vivienne Westwood Anglomania on a special capsule collection for F/W 10-11 that includes four jean styles for men, five for women and a denim shirt, and printed tees. The new collection is available in Westwood’s showrooms as of January 2010.

The collection is strongly inspired by the British designer’s archives, with reference to her well-known Punk and Pirate collections from the 70s and the 80s respectively and Westwood’s unique fits throughout her career. Given Lee’s additional expertise in jeanswear, the results are fresh and young, with Westwood’s strong personality.

Women’s styles include jeans in super skinny, slim fit and baggy jean variants as well as micro hot pants. Men’s offerings include skinny rock’n’roll-inspired jeans, “bondage” and oversize styles. Shades include black and dark indigo - vintage or hardly washed – in both stretch and non-stretch materials.

The offer also includes electric blue, red, emerald green, camel and white denim alternatives. Special printed effects, including metallic surfaces in gold and bronze, and trompe-l’oeil effects inspired by a famous Westwood couture evening dress, are also highlights.

The collection will be sold through Westwood boutiques and select stores worldwide.

Said Carlo D’Amario, CEO, Vivienne Westwood: “It is important for us to collaborate with a prestigious denim brand such as Lee. When Vivienne Westwood’s creativity meets Lee’s heritage and know-how, one can create an outstanding and high-quality product as this one.”

Giorgio Presca, President VF Jeanswear International said: “It is a dream come true for us: We always considered Vivienne as one of most influential, creative and iconic designers of our time. The Lee brand is itself an icon in denim culture and we consider this marriage as one of the most promising projects in Lee’s future.”
