We love hearing about green initiatives, so we felt compelled to mention the launch of La Sportiva’s new online community portal called LIVE, which brings together all of the 80-year-old Boulder, CO-based company’s social media and grassroots efforts in the climbing, hiking and mountain running communities onto one page. “We tapped into social media tools a few years ago. During this time we developed several blogs, created pages on Facebook, various brand pages on running, hiking and climbing social media websites, and our own website, which already features video, event spotlights and breaking news,” explained brand marketing manager Laura Fryer. “We looked at the La Sportiva fans and the broad array of outreach efforts underway and felt like we should pull them all together into one easy to use brand portal to the social media world—that’s when La Sportiva LIVE was born.” Fans of the performance sporting goods company will now be able to interact directly with the brand as well as access video clips and, oh, climbing trip reports from some of the wildest mountains on earth.
