Karl Lagerfeld has entered a retail development partnership with Chalhoub Inc., a renowned leader in the distribution and marketing of luxury brands in the Middle East and member of the Chalhoub Group. Through this five-year agreement, Chalhoub Inc. will leverage and expand the brand’s presence in the region.
Until 2018, Chalhoub Group Retail plans to open 10 Karl Lagerfeld concept stores and 15 shop-in-shops in the Middle East. To kick-off of the partnership, two shop-in-shops will open in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to present the Spring/Summer 2014 collection in store. In July another autonomous store is scheduled to open in Qatar.
Pier Paolo Righi, CEO and president of Karl Lagerfeld underlined how the Middle East was a key area for the global roll-out of Karl Lagerfeld stores and that the brand was profiting of the already existing fan base in the region.
Over the past year, the iconic fashion house has opened 17 directly operated retail stores throughout Europe and Asia and continues its worldwide retail expansion. The Karl Lagerfeld portfolio offers an accessible-luxe range of ready-to-wear for women and men, fragrances, watches, eyewear, footwear, as well as a distinctive choice of bags and small leather goods.
