The upcoming edition of Ispo Beijing will take place on February 27, 2013, once again at the China National Convention Center. This season’s newcomers include Adidas and Li Ning, who mark their first steps in to the Chinese market, as well as Swedish brand Haglöfs and Switzerland’s Mammut. With over 600 outdoor, fashion, ski and action sports brands planning to participate, the rise in exhibitors has led organizers to expand the space to over 40,000-sqm.
A series of new features have been planned for the extended area. The Ispo Award for innovation in sports business will return to present its latest winners while the newly established Asian Products Award highlights Chinese and Asian innovations. For the first time, multiple shoe brands and a simulation zone featuring turf, mud, dry soil, gravel, plastic and asphalt will offer free test running to retailers, athletes and fans. Meanwhile, simulation rock and ice walls will set the stage for performances from professional European, American and Chinese skateboard brands.
What’s more, the Outdoor Industry Forum, Asian Pacific Show Conference and Sports Fashion Trends Forum will continue to share information and industry trends while a new area gives inspiration on how to successfully display and sell children’s sportswear in stores. With so much planned, the four-day event is expected to break the records set in its previous year, when it drew 516 brands and 24,507 visitors. As of now, February’s confirmed participants include Alpine Pro, DC, K2, Nitro, Nordica, Northwave, Salewa, X-bionic, Kolumb, Toread, Mobi Garden, Protest, Smith Optics and others.
