The Blue Starry Night event held on 2 July, 2015 in Milan, celebrated the second edition of Isko’s I-Skool contest with a catwalk show and award ceremony of its finalists. During the same night Premiere Vision also awarded their Promising Talent Award by Denim Première Vision.

The event involved more than 40,000 students from 16 international fashion schools who participated in two different award categories – The Denim Design Award and the Denim Marketing Award. The schools participating were UAL Chelsea (London), ESMOD (Munich), Istituto Marangoni (Milan), Polimoda (Florence, Italy), IUAV (Venice), University of Westminster (London), Artesis Plantijn University College (Antwerp), SCAD (Savannah, USA) and FIDM (Los Angeles), AMFI (Amsterdam), Polimoda (Florence), Sapienza (Rome), University of Pisa (Pisa), AMD (Düsseldorf) and Viamoda (Warsaw).

For the Denim Design Award students were challenged to create denim garments according to four moods: Bohemian Blue, Couture Denim, Active Jeanswear and Future Fit. Isko’s own creative hub Creative Room led the operational part of the project, shortlisted students’ best works and invited them to their showroom in Castelfranco Veneto (Italy) to learn how to improve their denim creations.

The four major Denim Design Awards went to Sophie Gauden (Artesis Plantijn University College) for Bohemian Blue; The Couture Denim award went to Chia Yi Hung (ESMOD Munich); Violante Toscani (Polimoda) won the Active Jeanswear category; Franziska Meierhoefer (ESMOD Munich) won the Future Fit award.

The Denim Marketing Award, tutored by the communications agency Menabò Group, challenged students to design a strategic market plan and define the technical actions needed to communicate the importance of ingredients in the definition of the final denim garment.
Winner for Sapienza University was Alessandra Raio, for Pisa University Laura Hollister, for Polimoda Julie Sigmund, for AMD Patricia Simon, for AMFI Franziska Sauerwein, and for Viamoda they named Joanna Olkowska, Natalia Barbara Pustelnik, Paulina Platek and Klara Faustyna Ogielska.
