, major integrated producer of polymers and fibres, primarily for nylon, spandex and polyester applications, has just presented its global denim concept collection for Spring/Summer 2014 with looks that highlight its own key technologies for denim, including Lycra DualFX™ fabric, Coolmax® fiber, Tough Max Lycra ® fabric, and XFit Lycra® fabrics.  Garments feature fabrics from Invista’s key mill customers and are arranged under three key themes.

"Fantasy" includes fabrics characterised by pearlescent coatings, reflective surfaces, coloured weft yarns, prints and tie dye effects. “Early reaction to this collection has been extremely positive because the fabrics are both visually exciting and they have excellent performance, especially in terms of fabric recovery,” says Jean Hegedus, INVISTA’s global segment leader for denim.

The "Reality" category features fabrics of two extremes: evergreen authentic basic denims, versus high tech fabrics in neon colors. The juxtaposition of these two extremes – authentic and techno – give life to an interesting contrast in aesthetics.
Invista's "Harmony" theme
Invista's "Harmony" theme

Harmony" represents a fusion of various trends such as performance denim moving into ready-to-wear, traditional ready-to-wear fabrics such as denim moving into sports. According to Invista, natural and synthetic fibres will be increasingly teaming up to provide enhanced performance, as well as knit denims looking like woven, and woven denims appearing like knits. A key innovation employed for this group of fabrics is Tough Max™ Lycra® that allow mills to differentiate their offerings by providing a unique balance of comfort and performance.
